Hi All!
After looking everywhere I can find on the internet, and not being within 100miles of any type of Mennonite Church, I have a question I hope someone can help me with. As a retired member of the military am I able to attend and join a Mennonite Church? I know there are many different types out there, old order to progressive, so it is hard to get a feel for this. I became a Christian after my service, and have found myself drawn to Mennonite beliefs in a strong way after a few years of not feeling comfortable in the different churches I've attended. I did not participate in any combat but always knew if put in any war fighting position I would not do it. Lucky that didn't happen, I retired after 21yrs.
Thanks in advance for any help on this subject

I think you would be welcome in most Mennonite churches. I am not Mennonite, though I have spoken in some of their churches in Ohio, and South Dakota. (I live near Menno, SD, which is not Mennonite but that's another story!)

Though Mennonites are historically pacifist, some (many?) have been affected by the American spirit. You might find this of interest which includes a quote from Menno Simons http://christianpacifismblog.wordpress.com/
