Rescue The Perishing

Numbers 12.6 "And he said, hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream."

Before I went to bed one night, I prayed and asked the Lord to send encouragement. I drifted off to a deep sleep and began to dream a very vivid dream. In this dream, I was in a church preaching to a large congregation of different races and people. I was speaking these words, "Either you are a child of the King (Jesus) or you are a child of the devil! You must be born again to become a child of the King. And another thing, you must love your neighbor as yourself. The congreagtion was shouting "Amen!" and "Preach the Word".

When I completed these words the Lord gave me, I went outside the church. I looked up and saw thousands and thousands of people pressing towards me. I looked behind me, and saw a deep, dark, bottomless pit, and I was facing the crowd with outstretched arms. On my left, an elderly woman in a wheelchair was about to roll in the pit, and I grabbed her at the last second. A man in front of me was having a heart attack, and I had my right hand on his heart and was praying for him. I then awoke from this dream. The Lord spoke to me and said , "I gave you a glimpse of hell and the multitude that is rushing, headlong into the pit. The elderly woman was one of those in the nursing home you ministered to right before she fell. You are my intercessor and are standing in the gap for many people. Keep on preaching." The Lord answered my prayer and sent the encouragement I needed to continue with His work.

Joel 3.14 "Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision."

Yes, My brother...This is a true story as are all the ones in my book. The Lord many times speaks to his children in dreams and visions, and it has happened to me, often..Even last night, I had another dream where I was about to preach, and one of the messages was to God's children "Cast thy burdens upon me and I shall sustain thee."

In my book, I wrote four or five other stories where the Lord revealed to me some things that came to pass. In one of these stories, An Open Door, I had read Acts 16.9 "And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him. saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us." That night I had a dream about a small country church. they were having a business meeting and discussing the lack of a preacher. In my dream, one of the members of the church stood up, and said "Call Irvin to come help us"..All the church agreed, and two weeks later, they called me to go preach for them...just like the Lord revealed unto me in a dream..

I have had many of these, and I know God still speaks to His own in dreams and visions.

Ivan, I believe God still speaks, even to those who do not know it is HIM. I believe however that not all of His children hear from Him in that same way, you know what I mean. I say this because I don't want anyone who reads this and doesn't think God speaks to them in that way so that there must be a problem with them, NO, don't think that, there is not. GOd may use others to speak through to you, or maybe He just HAsn't YET. Keep asking. Hey also, I notice when God speaks to me, I have to really tune in because it is a still, small, voice inside, and to make it more difficult, it sounds like my own thoughts, I am in training, lol, so I'm sure it can get to the point where one would immediately recognize it, but don't worry if you don't, and listen for a spontanious thought to come zooming in, see what it said, and weigh it out, God's voice is not loud and booming like you would think. ALso, dreams, if you have them and remember them you ask for intrepretation, if you don't even remember them, then well, ask God to communicate with you this way, but if He chooses not to, it's no reflection on His relationship with you. (For you who don't clearly hear Him.)

Thank you for your comments and words. Yes, the Lord speaks to us through that still small inner voice (My sheep hear my voice and I am known by them), sometimes in dreams and visions, sometimes in day to day activities, and usually through His word. He does deal differently with His children..after all we are all individuals and He knows us the best. The main thing is that He has said, draw nigh to me and I will draw nigh to you.
