  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Shalom all,

Much appreciation Wild Celt.
I have been writing them lately to and I'll check those links asap.

While I am at it, can anyone when you have time of course, ;) find the links to threads about Torah and Grace.I believe it was Charles who had some comments awhile back about the Jewish perspective Paul was speaking from, although it may have been you sim_chat, or rather I am certain you had some interesting points in the thread.I just can't remember which thread it was

Torah and Grace, where to begin.....

We think of Torah as "Law" and this sends us in a certain direction. Yes, it is full of rules - law. But a more appropriate way to look at Torah is teaching. The word Torah is a noun form of a root hry which means "to teach". So this biggest message I get from that is Adonai is trying to teach me something about Him. From the "rules" that he gives us, he is telling me what His perspective is on an issue. This tells me about His nature, character - HIS point of view. It is very important to me what He says about Himself.

Exodus 34:6
6 And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, long suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth...

A good word to have in your hip pocket is dsx this is often translated as "lovingkindness", but it is soooo much more than that. But if you just look up this one word in a concordance (used over 200 times in the Tanack) you will learn alot about grace. :)
