  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

praying for your father Michael.

FWIW - this is a very treatable and curable cancer, of course the early detection always helps. My dad was diagnosed with the same over 10 years ago - still doing extremely well. Am confident that our Father God will care for your dad too.

I am confident God will help the doctors to heal the cancer as well, but it still makes me a tad nervous.

and you're not a Browns' fan - how did you survive in Cleveland???



of course, my dad loved Paul Brown and hence strongly disliked Art Modell - so have never been a Browns fan myself (although we do sort of follow the new Browns).

Edie, it was great growing up a Steelers fan 20 minutes from downtown Cleveland (rightly called "The Mistake on the Lake.") Being surrounded by so many Browns fans (or as I call the team, the Clowns) made me an even more rabbid Steelers fan!

I did. It was simply awesome. I have always said the Steelers are the Prime franchise of the NFL and the Dawgs (Browns fans call themselves Dawgs) are the worst the NFL has to offer!
