Well, I can talk about my memories, or I can talk about the fact that I'm yet to get my star.

I didn't get my first star that long ago.
I had been on this site for a while- mainly in the debate forums. Then I saw BE, said "This looks like fun," and here I am.

But I always did wonder how Gazelle got so many All she seemed to say in the threads I saw her was...Hey ya'll.

Welp, back when I had nothing, you weren't allowed to rep beg (like many of us here) - and I was going to mention gazelle becuz it wasn't until I got my first rep from her that I noticed I really CRAVED REPPIES.

Too bad we couldn't work things out to get them. You just had to sit and HOPE somebody thought you were pitiful, clever, kind or funny enough to bother to pass you one! It was hard work! rofl

That's why when I see people here complain that they aren't moving up I almost laugh - we had it 100 times worse becuz we had no way to even rep beg! You were just stuck.
It took me alotta months just to get a few hundred thousand rep points.

Gazelle was very kind to me back then and I always remember that.

No rep begging?! But it's so fun! Unimaginable. I don't know what BE would be like without all the wonderful begging.

I think I was here a couple years before I got my first star.

I was here over three and a half years and had 139,000 points and was feeling quite proud of myself. Then this forum was born and realized that waiting for people to recognize how wise I am to rep me was a thing of the past.

When Erwin instituted the 7-7-7 reforms I had been here 4 years and had about 50,000 rep points (earned in the no begging era). My tirade against the reforms boosted my reps 70,000 points and got me a 1 day e-Ban from Erwin (which he reversed).

When the Conservative Christian Forum was started I picked up more reps and Green Munchkin noted how fast I was gaining rep points. That peaked my interest and I went over to the Blessing Exchange (which I had not visited much if at all prior to this). I figured if it the rule against rep begging was gone, I'd make it an art!

So, on October 6th (2007) I posted this:

Hi, I'm drstevej and I am a repaholic. I know I am not alone here and am not sure I am ready to rep-ent.

But maybe if we can gather here to rep each other we won't be found in out of the way fora begging reps from shady characters or repping folks we don't know just to see if they will rep back.

So share your story and some reps with those who share our rep-jones.

I didn't have a star when I first became a mod, but my very dear friend MMXII gave me my first for free!!

And what a movement it has become. Thank you for laying the ground work for us. Repping is so much fun now. It was so great to receive so much help getting that 1st star. Giving back to those with less feels good too. What a wonderful way to have fun while fellowshipping with God's many children.
For me, it's keep it clean and beg...beg...beg for that next star.
