  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I ask that you all would remember me in your prayers. The last several months seem to have been one trial after another. From a failed relationship that was rather devastating to knee surgery, and now the company I am working for seems to be on the brink of going out of business. I keep asking God to let me get back up on the mountain for a little bit, but it seems I keep getting knocked back down in the valley. I know God is always with me. He has brought me through everything up to this point, and he will continue do to so. I know trials and test just make me stronger, but I sure wouldn't mind seeing a bright sunny day!! I'm not complainging, just kindly asking that you remember me, and I will you.

Thanks

I understand what you're going through. My husband is out of work again(second time in a year) and it seems as if we have spent alot of time in the valleys. I have found we grow more as Christians in the valleys....our family does anyway! I will pray for you..I hope that the next time you look outside you will see that bright sunny day!!!
Blessings!

and some encouraging scriptures. I know, as I'm sure we all do, know how you feel. It's at times like these we DO come to our brothers and sisters in Christ for prayer, encouragement, support and love. I hope these help some...if even just one and please know I will be praying too. :prayer:

Genesis 26:24 And the Lord appeared unto him the same night, and said, "I AM the God of Abraham, thy father; fear not, for I AM with thee and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake."

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

Romans 15:1-7 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

2 Let every one of us please HIS neighbour for HIS good to edification.

3 For even Christ pleased not himsel; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for OUR learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

5 Now the GOd of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus.

6 That ye may with one mind AND one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

7 Wherefore receive ye one aother, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

2 Corinthians 7:4-7 4 Great IS my boldness of speech toward you, great IS my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

5 For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without WERE fightings, within WERE fears.

6 Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

7 And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent min toard me; so that I rejoiced the more.

I just want to take a moment to thank you all for your kind words and prayers. I was expecting today to be a bad day, and it wasn't. Praise God! I thank him for his unseen hand that guides and watches over us in our daily lives.

I think we all need to remember each other. This world is not getting any easier. The only way we are going to make it is with Jesus Christ, and we need each other lifting us up and praying for each other.
