Hello everyone. Ive been contacted by my stepmother with this email. It seems her sister is dying from breast cancer. I will enclose some of the letter for you, and ask for your prayer for her, and her family!!!
Letter as follows:
My sister Brenda came back in our life about 17 months ago. She had been gone for
10 years without any contact. Lived in Abilene, but totally disowned the family. Lived a
hard life, but choose to with reasons I understand. We made contact 17 months ago
and as happy as we were it was very heart breaking. She has advanced breast cancer
that has spread to her bones and will never be cured. She has lived passed her quoted
time frame, but hitting a very rough ending I am afraid. She fell 3 weeks ago and broke
both arms. They placed metal rods in both arms and went ahead and did the same with her
hips and both legs. We have gone to Abilene daily and have not seen much improvement.
The process is standard with hope they can walk again and lead a better life to the end.
I just do not think she will get strong enough to do so, but time will tell. They are
moving her to a extended care unit for 2 weeks of therapy. If additional therapy or assistance is
needed they are referred to other facilities such as skilled nursing facilities, comprehensive
inpatient rehabilitation or long-term care facilities. We have offered a room, but understood we can
not give her the needed care at this point. Just turning her will break a bone. She also have 5 compressed
vertebras and some cracked ribs right now. They give her morphine every hour for pain. It is such a bad
and heart breaking thing to see. Pain management is about all they can do for now. For some
reason she has asked about you often. I think she relates to living on the streets and always wished she had
done so in California and not in Abilene. Never the less please add her to your prayer list for a peaceful
ending and she is very religious and has not turned against God with this illness.
End of letter
Pray as you are led in this.
God bless all of you.
