Well this is my first New Thread and hopefully not my last. I've read a few posts in this "courting couples" category and am finding it surprising the lack of knowledge so many seem to have when it comes to living a christian life, while being in a relationship with someone. I think churches need to create a ministry where this is a part of teaching to young people, as they enter the mid teen years, so there is not such a lack of understanding.
The relationship one has with God must take precedent. It has a combination of realizing who you are as a new creature in Christ, the responsibility you have to God and what "commitment" truly means - to God first and then to those one has a relationship with.
