Rejoice in the Word


Psalm 119:162 I rejoice at Your word, as one who finds great treasure.

Jer 15:16 When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God Almighty.

The secret of Christian joy is to believe what God says in His Word and act upon it. Faith that isn’t based on the Word is not faith at all; it is presumption or superstition. Joy that isn’t the result of faith is not joy at all; it is only a “good feeling” that will soon disappear. Faith based on the Word will produce joy that will weather the storms of life.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.

There are great treasures buried in God’s Word, “dig” for them as we read, meditate, and pray. When we find these treasures, our hearts are touched with joy. This joy naturally leads to worship.

John 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.
John 17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

What better way to worship the Lord than thru His Word? Rejoice in His Word!!!



Thank You Lord for Your Word! Please give each of us a very real appreciation of Your Word - give us a hunger for it. Thank You that as each of us satisfies this hunger we'll find Your joy - open each heart to continue to rejoice in Your Word more & more. Thank You that this joy is eternal! In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
