Misleading, I believe. It is illegal to teach creation as science.

By that logic it would’ve been illegal to teach smartphones as being plausible 100 years ago, but that didn’t negate their plausibility in the present. What once would’ve been considered as superstitious nonsense has become reality and this mindset has continued consistently throughout the ages since the creation of man.

Evolution is based on the idea that people evolved from slime or whatever and that some groups of people are more evolved than other groups. That's what your theory embraces.

This is wrong (well, the slime thing is poorly worded and seems to be a slur).

Evolution DOES NOT claim that anyone or anything is "more evolved". That is just nonsense. Perhaps if you weren't projecting race-theories onto evolution you wouldn't be confused about this.

Except that evolution doesn't promote such a thing at all. It doesn't say anything at all, actually. It just describes how life evolved into what it is now.

That is one hundred percent backwards. That is the observation that was made. Those that believe the creation myths tend to be more racist.

Why does the fact of evolution bother you so much? If there is a God of the Bible all that evolution does is to tell you how he did it. Evolution does not refute God.

Not exactly. It is illegal to teach creationism in schools because it is religion. It is not science. In fact most creation websites and their associated businesses require that people that work for them swear that they will not use the the scientific method. I know that the two biggest ones, AiG and ICR both require their "scientists" to avoid doing real science.

If creationists followed the scientific method it could have been taught in schools. But if you followed the Dover Trial it was shown in that trial that what they were doing was not science.

So why don't creationists follow the scientific method? There is no scientific evidence for creationism and that is totally due to the actions of creationists.

When you start to get into the specifics of it it does because they claim mutations weren’t just occurring in one place on the planet they were occurring all over the world and taking place over millions of years so naturally there would be several occurrences taking place at different times with several different stages of evolvement.

And that is zero basis for saying that evolution promotes racism. Again, evolution is DEscriptive, not PERscriptive.

There is an entire group of people who are convinced that I will be doomed to an eternity of hellfire (and deserve it), if I don't think like them, talk like them, or act like them -- and this belief, they believe, justifies their contempt of me.

Is it the least bit surprising that they would feel the same way to those who don't look like them?

I never said evolution promotes racism I inferred that evolution is more likely to promote racism compared to the biblical creation account because the biblical creation account derives all mankind being descendants from one source, Adam & Eve whereas evolution derives mankind from many different sources at many different times. Biblical creation account all men are related to one another deriving from one gene pool, evolution all men are not related to one another deriving from multiple gene pools. It’s a lot easier to promote superiority of race deriving from separate gene pools rather than deriving from the same gene pool.

...which is not to say that it cannot be -- or has never been -- misused or twisted to serve a nefarious agenda.

...but the great thing about science is that you can combat a bad idea with a good one.

But the biblical creation account is only one of many pills one must swallow in order to be accepted into the fold...

Institutionalized religion is based on inherent inequalities: God's chosen people vs. His unchosen; the "Saved" vs. the unsaved; the faithful vs. the infidel... in every case, the Other is seen either as something flawed that needs to be corrected (willingly or not), or, failing that, an enemy that needs to be eliminated.

If that is the case then why are creationists more apt to be racist? That is what the article in the OP shows.

And oddly enough the only people that I have ever seen put a racist slant on evolution have been creationists. That indicates that they are projecting their own beliefs about differences in the races. They get evolution wrong in a way that only a racist could.

Being deluded has nothing to do with how smart a person is. It makes no sense to believe something came from nothing or that all you see in the universe is just coincidence.

You appear to be rather confused. We were not discussing the origin of the universe. The universe could have been started by a God, or it could have been a natural process. It does not matter since we know how life evolved once it existed.

What you did is called "moving the goalposts" and it is actually an admission that you were wrong about life being the product of evolution since evolution does not imply "no God". Even if there is a God we know how life developed.

Who creates those "bad ideas" in the first place?

Keep in mind:
  1. geocentrism gave way to heliocentrism
  2. alchemy gave way to chemistry
  3. Phlogiston theory gave way to Combustion theory
  4. the nuclear model of the atom gave way to the Bohr model
  5. Nebraska Man gave way to Peccary tooth
  6. and we still have about ten different models as to how we got our moon

People, of course. Did you think ideas fell from the sky like manna from Heaven?
