Reilly's CCLXXVIII- Music and Meter and Mode and Melody

Not many people would think this about me, but I play an instrument and enjoy music. Music's impact upon the world we live in cannot be articulated properly. Anything I say about it will not do the art justice.

I would like to dedicate this Pub to all those involved in music, past and present: to all the composers, to all the vocalists, and to all the instrumentalists who spent/spend countless hours perfecting their craft just for the few minutes of a musical piece. They truly have shook the world with their music.

I hope that many will come and share some of the music that they hold dear to them. I know many have particular genres and styles that they prefer. I'm sure all the regulars here at Reilly's Pub would love to listen and indulge in music. I'll post some links to music in the near future.

In the meantime, enjoy the company and food we have to offer, and, once again, do not hesitate to share some of the wonderful music that has moved you throughout your life.

When we are closing an old Pub would you please please ensure that you make no further posts after the post count [ in the top right hand corner of the post box - right beside the buttons for report and add to reputation box ] reaches 1001. The next post to the thread will cause the robotic closing of the thread and the automatic opening of a new one with the same name !! ]

Please believe me when I say that whoever is closing the old pub has already PMd a Mod/Staff member to ask for closure . Forcing the robotic closure adds to their work .

Oh our referendum is on the proposed abolition of the Seanad (Senate), our upper House of Parliament. I strongly oppose the measure but the vote will be fairly close with a probable small majority in favour...

Well, with a title like that, I've got to come back in! Symphony season has started back up (although we did sneak in a fun summer outdoor show this year, so we haven't been off for too long)!
I was glad for a bit of a break, though, because life got crazy...September saw the completion of both my first full marathon and my portfolio for my tenure application. Hopefully, this month will see the return of sleep.
