I signed up to attend camp with my youth group this summer. I was super excited since according to my youth pastor the last speaker was Reformed. This year, however, it seems I will be taught by a heretic.
Just look at this statement of faith! (I've underlined the parts that really bother me.)
No person outside of Christ has the ability to do anything good. Not only that, but look at how he says, "many problems in life." Is that really what it's about? A better life now?
Since there is no mention of prevenient grace in his statement about man having the ability to do anything good or in the salvation of man, I am forced to assume that he is a semi-Pelagian. Strange how the Southern Baptist Convention will allow these men to teach the youth.
I am very concerned for my youth group. Please be in prayer for them. These men might think and claim Arminianism, but in actuality they hold to and teach a worse doctrine without even knowing it.

5. ABOUT HUMAN BEINGS
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2

6. ABOUT SALVATION
Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 2:26; Romans 5:1
