Reformed forum name

I saw that the other forums were working on a name so I figured to start a thread for isto get a name.

According to Moderator WesleyJohn, when Erwin created the new forums he suggested that mambers come up with a name.

I think something that has to do with "soveirgn grace" would be nice.

What do you think?

But if we are going to do something more biblical, then I would suggest something that reveals the kind of work that God does in believers????

This one has my vote. We should be willing to realize that we will not be Totally Reformed on this earth.

Also, this was the motto I inked on my hard hat during last year's mission trip.

It's simple, elegant, and descriptive.

Well, I see it is too late for my vote to count.

But, I don't care for the "Always Reforming."

I don't have a clue what it means. It sounds like it is saying that the truth is always changing. Therefore we have to keep reforming. I do not believe this to be true.

It can be applied both to the Christian themself and the Church. We are to be constantly analysing our own lives and 'reforming'. It is a Bulldog asks, a reference to sanctification. Sanctification is not a one-off event, it is on-going. Luther started the Reformation, we continue it.

Our difference is that I don't see being sanctified as an ongoing process. God says I'm sanctified so--I am sanctified.

Just consider this the latest revelation in my efforts to be "always reforming!"

Ultimately, Terri you are correct. God views us as having lived a righteous life because of the substitutionary effectiveness of Christ's perfect, holy life. His death paid our sin debt and his life granted us righteousness.

To many of us the term "sanctification" refers to the post-regeneration process of the Holy Spirit conforming us into the image of Christ. This will have it's ultimate fulfillment when we are fully regenerated in glory.

Paul spoke about this in his letter to the Philippians:

Phil. 3:12-14 (ESV)
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: "forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

I'm sure there are other verses but this was the first to pop in my mind.

Here is another definition that I pulled off of CARM:
Sanctify, Sanctification
To sanctify means to be set apart for a holy use. God has set us apart for the purpose of sanctification not impurity (1 Thess. 4:7) and being such we are called to do good works (Eph. 2:10).
Christians are to sanctify Christ as Lord in their hearts (1 Pet. 3:15). God sanctified Israel as His own special nation (Ezek. 27:28). People can be sanctified (Exodus 19:10,14) and so can a mountain (Exodus 19:23), as can the Sabbath day (Gen. 2:3), and every created thing is sanctified through the word of God and prayer (1 Tim. 4:4).1
Sanctification follows justification. In justification our sins are completely forgiven in Christ. Sanctification is the process by which the Holy Spirit makes us more like Christ in all that we do, think, and desire. True sanctification is impossible apart from the atoning work of Christ on the cross because only after our sins are forgiven can we begin to lead a holy life.
