Reformed Churches Always Reforming?

Hiya,

This is a question to my Reformed friends: in light of "Semper Reformanda", how is this principle being practically worked out in Reformed churches, not simply on an intellectual/theological level, but even in terms of communicating the Gospel message, outreach, engaging our culture, and breaking out of cultural religious constructs of years past, to be relevant to our society? What challenges does one encounter in actually living out "Semper Reformanda"?

Remaining Biblical. I think many reformed churches have abandoned doctrines like the regulative principle of worship either to traditionalism or to appear to be as hip as the next Church. I think we have to remain Biblical Christians yet live and worship in such a way that demonstrates the Love of Christ to a perishing world. Another way I see we are losing ground, is by abandoning sound doctrinal teaching and preaching, for modern trends. The end of all theology is the simple proclamation of the Gospel.

when churches abandon doctrines & creeds they slowly slide into cults. In fact, every cult can trace it's existence to such a thing.
