REDESIGNED: CF Homepage

Since I've made the CF homepage forum categories collapsible, and since I removed the latest thread box, I thought I would make it so that when you collapse a forum category, the latest post title in that forum category still shows up next to the category name.

While I did that, I might as well move the "Active Users Online" box to the side, as that is a huge box, if you don't collapse it.

I hope the combination of the collapsible categories and the redesign makes CF a better place. Took me a few hours to do this.

Hi Erwin! The homepage looks great. But I agree, it would be really good to have the old version as an option, too. Personally, the older one was my favourite - less space between the different forum titles made it look neat and cute, and I didn't have a problem with the "big box"!

Just a note, Erwin - I can't read the blue main forum titles, as the background bar that they sit on is also blue. Just incase you hadn't noticed that.

Um... I hate to be a negative person, but I really do perferr the old style. The new one seems really cluttered... and I can bearly read anything. It makes my eyes hurt
IS there anyway that we can chose between teh new one and the old one?

Seems to me there is a huge amount of space wasted with the "who's online" thing. Who cares who's online? If you reduced this to people on your buddy list only then that would give much more room for more useful stuff. Maybe there could be a link to see "Who's online" if you found you just couldn't contain yourself.

All the stuff you put in the right column I generally do not care about.
So I now see the forums right away.

(I'm too new to be set on the old format)

Erwin,
Excellent job on the new layout. Don't mean to criticise at all, but while it looks amazing on higher resolutions, it does get a bit squashed and messy on low-res.
Just concerned about the users with older PCs, is all!

Good point there twosid. The 'who's online' list is not much use, functionally, unless you are the sort of person who clicks on random usernames in the list...

But, apart from that, the new design looks lovely.
