Red Riding Hood

Saw this on saturday.
I liked the movie. it took a traditional tale for kids and made it into a
story adults could be interested in.

Really no big name stars but the movie is convincing.
More of a combonation who-dun-it/thriller. The town has to figure out who is the werewolf before it is destroyed by it.

Definately not a "B" movie, but not a block buster either.

Is he the werewolf hunter?
I think I have seen him before, but I wouldn't say he is famous.

Loved his final scene almost cheered.(not to give away the movie)

I don't know which character he is, I've only seen previews and he's in them. He's very much famous..I don't know what movies you're not watching, but Gary Oldman is a great actor. I like that you say you almost cheered..I love it when I feel so involved in a movie. I can't wait to watch this one.

Similarities:
She is a teen, she is torn between two boys(men), she is singled out by the wolf.
Differences:
It is set medievil times, the town fights against the mutant, no sparkly villians or heros, They all have intertwined families, as twilight the only family extended ties is the mutants(wolves and vampires).

I think there is a difference.

And I've surely seen the commercial for Red Riding Hood a good half dozen times but it doesn't even show Gary Oldman. I didn't even know he was in it.

No other stars? I don't really keep up with these news kids very much but Amanda Seyfried sure is an upcoming star, at least it sure looks that way. She'll be hosting Saturday Night Live in no time and could very easily become one of the highest paid actors in movies one o' these days.

I think there is a difference.

And don't forget they were both directed by Catherine Hardwicke, and Billy Burke plays the heroine's dad in both movies.

The BIG difference in my opinion is that the leads were MUCH better cast in Red Riding Hood.

Other than that, I agree with your assessment. Not a blockbuster, but still an enjoyable movie--and I liked how it ended.

I think there is a difference.

It has more to do with the overall feel of the movie; how it was directed, the visuals, and the way which the script was written. Not physical story similarities.
