I got up this morning and read this. Normally, I use the King James Bible, but today I picked up the Message Bible and the first verses I read could not have been be more applicable, or more clear. Listen and be blessed:
"So if youre serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Dont shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christthats where the action is. See things from his perspective.
Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real lifeeven though invisible to spectatorsis with Christ in God. He is your life. When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, youll show up, toothe real you, the glorious you."
Colossians 3:1-4
I am convinced that what we are about to be awakened to is exactly what is shared here..... who the real us is. You see, every single one of us who love the Lord in truth ARE new creatures. We ARE light. The old nature, who we were pre-salvation, he or she is ALREADY dead. But we have been tricked....lied to.... and we have all bitten on the bait. We do not see from a heavenly perspective...from HIs perspective... from the perspective of truth.
We do not see that our life is not about bills, and pressures, and jobs, and houses and vacations and stuff....lots and lots of of stuff. It is all earthly, sensory, and in the big picture, meaningless. Nor are we what we feel, or the bad thoughts we think are ours and then embrace, and the bad actions we often do from embracing those thoughts as our thoughts, which they are not. That is NOT us, glory to God! Now, let's awake and set our faces like a flint to believe it!
Do you remember the scene in the Matrix? You are offered a blue pill and a red one. Take the blue, and you will forget all this "confusing eternal mumbo jumbo" and go right back to the way you think life is, with no worries or cares of eternity and all that "pressure" and enjoy your life as much as possible.
OR
Take the red pill and the blinders... the sleep mask.... comes fully off and you see things for exactly the way they are. You see you are an eternal being, one that God already inhabits and has already made totally new. You see your existence now as a mission.... to display that amazing God of eternity to any and all around you by your words as well as your actions. We are in truth an army of God, and our weapons are love and truth and with patience and kindness we wield them, so that we can awaken others caught in the matrix of temporal lies.
The things of the earth that pull at us like snarling dogs, or allure us like sultry sirens, they all are meant to suck us back into the temporary, the world that is not and truthfully never was our home. Christians, that is not the path God has chosen for any of us. Our calling is much higher, much more glorious. Our calling ia an eternal one. We are being urged by our Father to:
"Love not the world, neither the things in the world, for all that is in the world, the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes and the pride of life... OUR life.... not His in us.... is not of the Father."
The alarm clock is gently ringing. It will get louder. Get up sleepyheads, Arise and shine, for our light is come, and it is about to break forth IN us, and through us onto others.
Listen, guys. I pray you see that we are, right now... today... being urged to awake to the truth that we are eternal beings....HIS eternal beings... LIGHT BEINGS! He wants to fill us and equip us for battle by giving us brand new natures, heavenly, eternal natures. If we will but yield to Him, it will be HIS job to insure all our weaknesses, our sins, our habits, our leftovers from believing the lie are addressed and changes made.
It is a glorious new day. It is the day that the Lord has made! Red pill, anyone?
