I was suffering some today. I was looking at beautiful crystals online to soothe myself. It gave me peace to look at the beautiful stones. I read about Red Jasper. It is a beautiful stone that is good for people who struggle with feeling pain about themselves after abuse. It is a stone that has a very sensitive feel to it and is comforting. I hope to be able to get one, one day. Does anyone else like Red Jasper?

I love it. It is not like transparent stones. Most would not even think it is precious as it's not crystaline.c It looks like a piece of plastic but feels much different.
I am glad you love it too :) I think it is a beautiful stone. It is interesting that it is not crystaline. I imagine it feels good in ones hand.

New Jerusalem will be made of Jasper. Revelation 21. I bet it's gonna be really beautiful, filled with the Glory of God, and God Himself will dwell there with us. :)

Crystals are just rocks. Whether they are evil or not depends on how we use them. If we use them for sorcery and for spiritual reasons, that's evil. If we see them as gods, that's idolatry. If we study geology, that's science. If we find the beauty of Creation in them, that's glorifying God. Same with rain. It's not evil, it shows God's Glory. If we dance to make it rain, that's sorcery, but if we dance in the rain rejoicing in awe of God's creation, that's worship! :)

Nature isn't evil in itself, and a rock isn't sinful, it's our own actions that corrupt us.

I like geology, so that's why I collect my rocks. I particularly like igneous (volcanic) rocks, and it just so happens that they are inexpensive and easy to find in the form of quartz. A lot of semi-precious stones are quartz, or silicate, minerals, like amethyst, citrine, and peridot.

I like reading about how the rocks were formed and what their chemical compositions are, basically a nerdy hobby. And I find it relaxing to examine my stones and display them. I don't think it's necessarily dangerous to have and enjoy rocks. It's just like any other collection - coins, stamps, baseball cards. Anything can become an idol. The amount of time I actually spend thinking about my rocks is maybe half an hour per month, if that lol. i have a lot of other things to do. I'm just saying, it can be harmless or harmful, but so can so many other things. To appreciate the beauty of a stone is the same as appreciating the beauty of trees, flowers, lakes, oceans, in my opinion.

Emli thank you for saying the New Jerusalem will be made of Jasper. That is so very beautiful :) Thank you for telling me that it is okay to find beauty in Creation. I love to find beauty in Creation. I do love the rain and crystals and trees and flowers. I love nature very much and I know it reflects the Lord's beauty and compassion.

You're welcome. :) It's okay that you have crystals, as long as you don't use them for any spiritual purpose. I would also suggest not placing any meaning in them, because that comes from new age and it is false. God never gave crystals any spiritual purpose, they aren't good or evil, they don't have any "energy" in them (which you know), they are just minerals. Crystals in themselves do not open doors to the devil, and we shouldn't fear them like many do (fear opens doors to the devil), as if the devil created them somehow (which is idolatry, and it also opens doors to the devil). I like geodes, they are really cool. :) God has created so much beauty in nature. As long as we don't worship Creation itself, it isn't idolatry to enjoy it. I am filled with awe when I study nature or science, or just look at an awesome rock or flower or butterfly or animals playing in the woods. God created all of that! He created the animals for us, and I would assume that He created beautiful sunrises for us as well, and He blesses the Earth with rain. To show His Glory so we can enjoy it. :) Psalms 19:1 As long as we don't worship creation, but give all praise to God, then we aren't sinning.

I love gemstones, citrene is my favorite. But someone with a history of new age involvement might be tempted to idolize gemstones because they are beautiful. My brother is a geologist and digs up fancy stones all the time, I'll have to post some of them sometime. Jasper looks amazing.
