  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Okay I have a serious question here. I'm in graduate school and I'm still in my first semester.

I've been getting involved slowly and so far I'm the only student in a LONG time to get involved with the university. So I got my advisor to okay. He said it would be a great thing for me to do and stuff.

Anyway now I want to take it further. I'm a memeber of the organz. that my field trives on. Well I wasn to get involved with it in MY region. Problem is I need a recommendation from him to do it.

I know graduate profressors are more tough when it comes to even considering them. I want to ask him but he's soooooooo intimating and I don't know if he'll write one for me. He's leaving in a couple of months to go elsewhere so he's extremely busy.

Now the pickle I'm in IS if I don't get one from him I have to wait until next year when I get to know some other professors.

So I guess my question is would it be inappropriate to ask because I don't know if this is considered an extracr. or not because it deals HEAVY with what I'm doing. I mean it's the main organization and I want to be a part of it IF possible.

Any ideas/suggestions would be helpful.
