Recommendation

If it doesn't trouble anyone I was wondering if I could get some recommendations for a digital camera.

I don't want anything fancy, something easy to use and that has good picture quality. Something that isn't too expensive would be nice too. Max I'd want to spend on one would be $400.

Having zero experience with anything but my Olympus Stylus 300 all I can say is that it's a good camera for home and family photography. It has only 3.2 megapixels so of course you can't blow stuff up much. But I've taken literally thousands of pictures with it and many have been keepers. I think i paid around $275 for it but I got it locally and if you'd go on the internet I'm sure you could get it for half that.

I have a Canon A75 and I love it. I think we paid around $200 for it. Only 3.2 megapixels, but a great camera for the price.

I have a Canon S60 - I've said it before but I've been very pleased with the results.

The Canon Powershot series are good, robust cameras. Have a browse at "Digital Photography Review" to compare prices, features etc.

I got a Canon PowerShot S100. It's a great little camera for a point and shoot, takes great pics and was under $200 I think. I like my Pentax K1000 for film, it is old and yet I love the control over the shots I take....but for digital someday I want to get the Canon Rebel...
