  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey Antari,

Have you ever heard of TRANCE before? It's a type of music that originated in Germany (I think with a man by the name of Paul Van Dyk) which combines house music with techno; it's a purely electronic form of music that's good for dancing or working out (I use it for working out); at the very least it is a lot of fun to listen to nonetheless (such as in the car while on a long trip) if you are somewhat of a techno-geek like myself. Most of the tracks on the trance albums I have contain very few vocals, but even those with vocals sound quite nice, in my estimation. I don't have too many albums on trance just yet, but my favorite one has to be A Trip in Trance 3 (it might still be sold in some electronics stores; the album came out last year); it's a two-CD album that came out last year at the same price as a new single CD album. I had a 50-something-year-old friend of mine listen to some trance himself and he seems to be quite glad he heard it; he wants to copy one of the tracks and put it to lyrics that can be sung in the context of a Messianic Jewish service (most of what they use for music is electronic keyboards, guitars, ect., rather than your usual piano or organ; some of what they play ALMOST sounds like trance, but has a contemporary appeal to it nonetheless suitable for everyone). Anyway, this is just a suggestion; I happen to like Messianic Jewish music to some extent as well; Paul Wilbur and Joel Chernoff are some examples. Hopefully you will find music that lifts your spirit nonetheless; God bless you.

Okay, I like pretty much any genre of music 'cept country, but can someone please recommend a group that resembles My Chemical Romance's style? I have money, and no music to buy. :p

Thanks in advance.
I recommend you start listening to non-disposable music

It's always interesting to buy a cd of new genre. After all, since you've bought it, you feel the need to at least try to listen to it (otherwise you just wasted your money). That way you might develop some new tastes.

I personally would recomming you to try some classical. That, combined with modern music, makes for a more balanced music taste than just pure modern music..

(and ofcourse, by modern music, I only mean Metal in all it's subgenres.. is there any other music? :p)
