I asked some Jewish people that I work with this question and they told me that it wouldn't be rebuilt because it isn't culturally needed anymore.

- Rob

Those Jewish are probably not traditional in their religious outlook.

Israel will not build the Temple of Solomon, but Ezekiel presented a prophetic image of a glorious new Temple in the future.

One of the commandments of the Torah is to build the Lord a Sanctuary. That Sanctuary was the Temple. This is an eternally binding commandment upon the Jewish people.

Many organizations are trying to set into motion a pathway to build the Temple. The most prominent being the Temple Institute. They are attempting to rebuild the Temple to the specifications of Herod's Temple knowing full well they would not be able to create Ezekiel's vision. The very tophography of Jerusalem, and indeed, all of Israel would need to change for Ezekiel's vision to come to fruition.

I believe that the replica of Herod's Temple will be built and then destroyed by the enemies of God. When Jesus returns, the Temple of Ezekiel's vision will be erected from the ruins and devestation upon the Land.

That's my two cents.

There are some that theorize the mosque is next to the sight and that would allow the rebuilding of the temple without the destruction of the mosque, which would help get the political approval/negotiations accomplished.

I don't really know, but I know it will happen.

Which is?

I'm not sure it matters, God will do whatever is necessary to accomplish what He has promised.

I just like to discuss different ideas, as I find the discussions to be good fellowship between brothers and sisters.

It'll definitely be rebuilt.

I remember being ... ten years old? ... and reading Hal Lindsey's Late Great Planet Earth in which there was a discussion about this ... I think someone in there, when confronted with the fact that the Dome of the Rock is currently sitting where the Temple was, responded with "Who knows? Perhaps there will be an earthquake!"

The thing is, no way COULD it be rebuilt without the Muslims going hyperballistic unless you have the Antichrist making a deal with the Arabs and Israelis allowing it to happen ...

I'm guessing it'll happen in ten years. But that's just me.
