  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi, I was asked to do some Photography of Houses and such for Realty people, and am kind of new to Photography. So I was curious if anyone had any certain Tips as far as taking these kind of Pictures? I know you are supposed to make the house appealing, but other then that?

Fill the frame as much as you possibly can. Avoid wide angle lenses becuase they can do strange things to the perspective. On that same line of thought, try to shoot straight on facing the house not at an angle. And last and certainly not least, do your best to avoid telephone wires.

Wouldn't you say shooting straight on could make the photo a lil boring?

Pay special attention to the lighting. In the morning or evening, you can often combine twilight with indoor lighting, though that doesn't always work. Still, take shots throughout the day -- some will work better than others.

Straight on is good -- you don't want weird angles. However, a shot that shows two walls is almost ALWAYS better than a truly straight shot even if one of the walls is barely visible.

its one of my favorites.

The only thing I do not like about it, is that in the "People" category of photos, many photographers post nudes and what I consider unappropriate shots. I know there is a community of people that consider it art and ok, but I do not. Luckily people are good about identifying those in thier subject lines.
