i have a great idea for a beaded christmas tree decoration, i'm not sure that i would be able to explain how to thread it together though, it sounds very complicated, but it's pretty simple to do. I'll see if i can find a link online for it, it's something that my daughter learned at guides last year, though if i remember correctly, your children are quite young, so i don't know how appropriate it may be for them.

I'm working on Christmas crafts right now with my 8 year old brother, 2 year old nephew, and one year old neice. So far we have made elves, reindeer, snowmen, and tree ornaments. I also have patterns for gingerbread men, santa, candy danes, stockings, angels, bells, etc. If you know of anything specific, I can give you directions. I am always looking for new craft ideas so left me know what you want and I should be able to help. I know how to make the most adorable 3-d trees out of construction paper. It's over my neice and nephew's heads but my 8 year old brother can do it. What age are you looking for crafts for? I can take most crafts and change them to suit a specific age group.

Here's one my sister in law does every year (although she gets pretty high speed with hers :)). You can buy plain clear glass ornaments at any craft store for a couple of bucks for a box of 4 or 6 or 12, depending on the size . Take bottles of acrylic paint (smocks are our friends :)) and help them squirt a little bit down INSIDE the ornament. Have them swirl it around and let it dry (don't cover the whole inside...leave room for other colors). Then take another color, swirl it, let it dry. And so on and so forth. There are endless possabilities for this idea, really. Like I said, my sister gets all complex with hers...animal patterns and decopage and gold leaf and crazy stuff. But it's fun for the kiddies, and grandparents LOVE them :) Of course, be careful since the ornaments are glass. Also, you can try other kinds of paint besides acrylic, but I'm not sure how well it would bond to the glass. Have fun :)

Love, Heather
