In some circles (unfortunately) I am regarded as an antagonist. I try to be respectful of everyone's feelings and sensitivities. But there must needs be an answer given in the face of error. And that answer must be biblical truth.
I am not trying to tear down anyone or anything other than error. And what I believe is true must at all points be based on scripture or it is nothing more than an opinion. My point is that I am open to the truth on ever point so long as it squares with scripture.
I do not like labels. They not only categorize an individual right out of their greatest asset (their individuality), but they often push them into that certain pidgeon hole and it becomes the standard for that individual to live by.
In my posts I argue for Dispensationalism because I have determined over the course of years Bible study that it is true. But here among fellow dispensationalists, I actually reject the notion that I am a dispensationalist because I am not determined to live by that standard. There are a lot of things championed by the various factions of dispensationalism that I disagree with because the Bible does not support what amount to nothing more than party lines.
When I have a discussion or debate with a Preterist, I have to clear the air that I do not hold to the dispensational party lines and am not responsible for everything that every dispensationalist ever uttered whether good, bad, or just plain off the wall.
Categorization (being lumped together) often results in opponents trying to tell me what I believe. And it is such a dreadful waste of time having to set the record straight... but we must... we must even when such frivolous straw men arguments are raised... <sigh>
It is my experience that most of reality exists between the extreme perceptions / ideals. Those perceptions / ideals are the seed beds for discontent and what I refer to as the party line belief system.
While there is an element of hanging together to keep from hanging separately in hostile environments, defending all dispnsationalism simply because it is dispensationalism (the party line) is wrong. It is wrong with any party line.
Case and point, person A is arguing with person B over the one way to God being Jesus only. Person A affirms person B challenges. Person A claims to be a Christian yet does not believe in the deity of Jesus. It would be wrong to form an alliance with person A in any other aspect that that they are correct about Jesus Christ being the only way to God.
The actual siding in this scenario is with the Bible / biblical truth.
I hope this is how my posts are received here.
