Friends, lately I have been wondering about the Word of Faith Churches. I know very little. I sighed up for "Word of Faith" Magazine put out by Kenneth Hagin Ministries and some of the articles have been very interesting to me. Can anyone recommend a more scholarly book or serious of books that may help me to understand the history and teachings of Word of Faith Churchesj? Thank you for your kind consideration.

Word of faith is a movement that came out of the Charismatic circles.
There are many books on our core beliefs that can be purchased on line.
Many consider that Kenneth E Hagin is the Founder of Word of faith.
his son Ken junior has carried on the minisry of Hid dad.
there are many places to to find His books including teaching on healings .
To shorten a. bit dad hagin believed all the promises of God apply to us.
He taught from Mark chapter 11 verse 23 a lot,and John chapter 5 as well.
We have our share of criticism due to standing on the Word for our prayer life.
Myself and hhodson do not mind teaching Word of Faith doctrine.

The movement began in the mid-70s when Kenneth Hagin began conducting his annual Campmeeting crusades in Tulsa and started Rhema Bible Training Center. Brother Hagin was an Assembly of God minister for nearly 30 years before going independent in the late 60s, so much of this theology came from the Pentecostal world. His influences during his early years of ministry were F.F. Bosworth, Dr. P.C. Nelson, Raymond T. Richey, Smith Wigglesworth, Howard Carter, Pop Goodwin, Charles Price, and Lilian B. Yeomans. When he was 33 he began reading books by a Free Will Baptist named E. W. Kenyon, and incorporated some of his verbiage into his teaching. The explosion in Word of Faith churches began in the late 70s as more and more people were exposed to Brother Hagin's teaching on the radio and in print. Then Word of Faith ministers like Ken Copeland and Fred Price became very popular on Christian television. If you want to do some reading to learn about the history and teaching I would start with Kenneth Hagin's books "Exceedingly Growing Faith" and "I Believe in Visions".

Nice hearing from you again Simon. I have been watching your ministry youtube videos on my large screen 4k Smart tv. It's so awesome to watch stuff that's much larger. It's almost like your in my living room. lol There's a lot to catch up on for sure. When a family member visits me and sees me watching one of your videos, I tell them... "that's one of my friends from the Word of Faith Christian forum that I am a member of."

Keep up the good work Simon in doing the Lords business... and if you get a (little free time), we could use your help and input in efforts of re-building our Forum, to prepare for the "final run" of getting the "fullness" of God's Word out, until Jesus returns for us. Contrary to what some of our critics may say about Word of Faith, in what we believe and teach. We got good news for them. We're still here... and alive unto to God, not dead... as (some would say)… and we ain't going anywhere until our work is completed, knowing that our time on Earth has gotten much shorter, and as we "look" around... a lot is happening, and many, many people are wondering all over the world, "what is going on?" That's why we are here "for such a time as this" to do our part in winning souls to Christ, whether on this forum... or, other ministry ways to share, (such as yours), sharing the Word to the airways through video around the world.

Before it was called Word of Faith it was the "faith movement" of the 50s and 60s.
