  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

One of my resolutions for 2012 is to read the Old Testament in its entirety. [I don't know it as well as I should].

Unless someone can suggest a better method to study it, I just plan on reading it from start to finish.

If there is a better plan, I'd like to hear some suggestions (for example: is it better to read chronologically....and if so, where can I find a guide for this, etc., etc.).

:)

If you really feel like you don't know the old testament as well as you should, and you are looking for more background to understand the new testament more thoroughly I highly highly suggest a course you can take online. It is called hayesod and you can find it on the website for first fruits of zion. It brought so much depth and perspective to my faith and helped a lot of things click , best $30 I ever spent by a long shot
