RE-Advice for my cat

Hey guys,
I have a baby kitten (4 years old). She likes to be by my roommates door and constantly meow and scratch up the wood. Am I a bad owner if I yell at her and try to prevent her from doing that stuff at 5:35 in the morning? If so, what suggestions do you have for me to help her retrain her brain? It seems she has chosen my roommate as her "person". Not that I mind that, but he does. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can be the best parent I need to for my furbaby so she does not disturb my roommate?

you'll have to get a litter box for your bedroom

we have a 1 yr old puppy & he sleeps with our teen at night
we have a dog bed on floor in her bedroom but he likes getting in her bed!

it shouldn't be a problem to keep kitty with you at night
after a while, it will become normal for kitty

What @mama2one said. Also, don’t yell at her as you’ll only scare her and push her away and I’m sure she loves you. Give her the attention she likes e.g. ear or chin scratches and make sure she has her creature comforts in your room at night like a favorite toy or blanket.

You’re blessed to share your life with a pet. I can’t have a kitty in my current living situation and hope to open my home again one day to animals.

So keep her litter box in my room and shut the door is what I am hearing is that correct? I just want to make sure I understand both of you. I can do that once I get back home. My only issue is that I have a CPAP. I worry about her clawing at it at night...

Yes, you should keep her with you unless there is some other room she can be restricted to at night where she would be safe. Btw I don’t think you’re a bad pet parent, you’re a good one for looking out for her and her needs.

I would hope she would not disturb your cpap apparatus and would be surprised if she did. Pets often know when we are sick and she may well understand it is there to help you.
