CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, so I'm pretty torched about STAR testing this week. Some days, my high schooler doesn't need to be at school until 11:30 am, and I find it absolutely deplorable that he gets to sleep late while I'm at the office

I know, it slays me how high school kids only have to show up for classes in which they are being tested during test weeks. It wasn't like that when I was in school. I feel like I got ripped off. Then again, I more than made up for it on those days I was at the river or Palisades Park instead of at school where I was supposed to be.

When I was in high school there was another girl at the school with the same first and last name. Whenever she did something wrong, they called my mom about it. But not ONCE did they accidentally call her mom about something I did.

I never had that problem, Raven. I went to a small enough school, all the parents and teachers knew each other. It was baaaad news for me. eheh

I am so envious of my teenager when she sleeps past, say 8 am....
Even on the weekends, I have that silly internal alarm clock that won't quit! BTW,
