CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have two mice and I love them. I'm not sure why - they're cute, they are small and pretty much low-maintanance, but you can take them out and play with them. They interact with you. They have 'moods'. You can train them. I love rodents!

The same reason I love rats and rodents...except I don't have any.

I love rats and mice! They are so smart. The only problem is they don't live very long. About 5 years if you are lucky.
I had a colony of female fancy mice. They were adorable. One of my favorite pets.

I have 4 rats right now...we've had 9 in all. And you're right, they don't live long compared to a lot of animals. But they are worth it because they are SO awesome!!! My girls are so smart, lovable, curious, cuddly, and fun! They're some of the greatest pets.
They do sometimes end up costing more than you'd think though. A healthy diet, large enough cages, cage mates....it adds up! But it's all worth it.

rats are darlings - i have four, two topaz girls (a hooded and self - they're sisters) and two black hoodeds, again, sisters.
the topaz rats are about a year old, the others are only a few months.
they're so smart and cuddly...i don't know how people can be grossed out by them.
