Sithlord 6/10--competent metal, doesn't do anything I haven't heard before, but more interesting than what I'd consider the baseline for being competent. Though that solo was painfully bland. And the track as a whole goes on for about 2 minutes too long.

7/10--Good, but like you said, very long. Keeps up the momentum fairly well--but it's gotta be pretty impressive to keep up for 13+ minutes, which this didn't quite do.

Solid musically. Had to take away points for the facepalm-worthy clean vocals and the bland-as-dry-paint breakdowns.

This is actually two songs--but the intro, imho, is worth the price of admission so I'm bending the rules.

Musically, it was brilliant. Loved the seventh chords they threw in. The odd voice in the middle seemed weird, but hey, its their song. I dug the screaming(I love high-pitched), and the guitars had nice sound. What brought it down a couple levels was the level of recording. It didn't sound nice at all. Everything was muddy and some things felt drowned at times. But beyond that, it was a good song.

Its not metal, but they are my hands-down #1 favorite band of all time. I have no idea why, they are just so drawing and different.

6.5--I really love mewithoutYou, but their attempt to be kooky-weirdo acoustic pseudo-Decemberists on that track (and really the entire album that song comes from) rubs me the wrong way. Pick just about any other song from any other album and my score probably rises 2.5 points.

Its just not my cup of tea. I can understand how some people would rate it much higher. I liked the layering at some of the lines. The music was nice. She has a nice voice. But it just didn't do it for me.
