so, I always thought that God called all true followers of Him in the rapture. but mom was talking a few days ago about how some people believe that God has the people of strongest faith stay behind to help everyone else. I'm not sure which one seems right, they kinda both do. what do you guys think?

I have never read that but there are those that will be on the fence so to speak that miss the rapture due to not making a decision to get born again that will make a decision to follow Jesus during the tribulation. They will be strong because they will profess him to the point of getting their head cut off. But I think everyone that is born again will be caught away.

huh, so then everyone does the Tribulation thing, even those loyal to God? Idk if that makes sense...not to come off demeaning or anything :/

I simply can't find enough evidence in the bible for a rapture. I'm amillenialist, so we believe the tribulation is symbolic, not a literal 7 years.

Amellinialists believe Revelation is symbolic, kind of like a picture book. So we see the thousand years as a picture for a long period of time, ie, the period we're living in now, and that the 7 years is also symbolic, so we don't believe in a secret rapture, but we believe that Jesus second coming will be visible, and Christians and non Christians alike will be alive on the earth, and once Jesus has come and taken us to be with him in heaven, that is the end of the earth.

Oh the topic that the rapture will happen, I've heard of three different viewpoints: Pre-Trib, Post-Trib, and Mid-Trib.

Now, pre-trib goes along with the thought that all the Christians are taken at the beginning of the tribulation. One argument behind this is that as people who have heard the Good Word before but rejected it sees Christians get taken, they might realize that Jesus indeed did exist.

A post-trib theory, in my opinion, is plausible because Christians might want to be on Earth to determine the beginning of the tribulation, and to preach that.

A mid-trib theory has always confused me. Perhaps keeping Christians for the more lenient part of the tribulation (following Revelation) and then taking them before certain events happen.

Ah... here's a link to wikipedia about the raputure. It explains some theories pretty simply.

Rapture - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Those are just a few of my thoughts.

God Bless!

I agree with Liesje, there will not be a "rapture". Why would God spare us tribulation, when he did not spare the early Church? They suffered terrible things. Speaking for the Catholic Church, I can say that pre-millienialism and post-millenialism are both rejected.

Jesus will come for all those who believe in Him.There's verses that says that we won't have to suffer the Tribulation but that all who believe in His name up to His timing will be saved, from new Christians to Old Christians.I will find the verses and post them later.

Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.1 Corinthians 15:51-52
And 1 Thessalonians 4 13-18 look it up good stuff.
For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him.1 Thessalonians 5:9-10

God hasn't destined us for wrath hell or the Tribulation. So He will take us up in a twinkling of a eye and we shall be changed.

PM me if you have any questions and I'll try to answer them best as possible with the Bible as my guide.

So the rapture is the being "...caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." (1 Thess.4:17) which happens after the resurrection of the dead - ah i see now
but the bible says the first resurrection happens after the tribulation. (Rev.20:5) - confused
:scratch:hmm...
