Wellllllll......the Earth has been most tranquil for the last 10,000 years or so and we're due, I'm afraid.
Have no fear of global warming, though. It will bring some level of an ice age before there is much of a threat from unbearable heat.

I am warm and cozy until I have to go to work at 3:00. It's like 12 below here and when I called work a little while ago and it's 55 degrees in there. Even if you exercise, it's pretty darn hard to get warm in that kind of cold....!!! So it's long johns and layers for me today.
