Raising money

All the talk about wealthy televangelists and what not got me thinking about raising money. There are a couple of things I'd like to do but can't because they require vast amounts of money, which I don't have.

So I was wondering if anyone in our group here happens to be an expert in raising money and could share their expertise, or if people want to toss around various ideas about raising money.. could be useful for other things too if people have community projects that they need to fund etc.

well If I was going to do anything I really wanted to, I would be talking large amounts of money.

but you can discuss anything you'd like, you never know who might find what useful.

OK, I'll get real.

I'm in Florida where there's a flea market every day of the week and yardsales Thursday through Sunday and sometimes on Wednesday! When I need money, I either post a sign and have a garage sale or pack up the car and hit the flea markets. A good garage sale (I had one last Friday) around here can net $300 to $400. The one I had where I sold DH's tools, I sold $1300.

A good flea market is worth about $100. In 1993 I once did $1500 before a downpour at 10 a.m. Had to pack up after only 3 hours! Never ever did that well again.

Kim, that book totally changed my outlook on prayer!

Last night at Bible Study, the 2 year old of one couple who has had a nasty earache was crying it hurt so bad. So 2 elders laid hands on Asher and we all prayed for healing. A few minutes after we ended, Asher sat up and smiled and his temp had dropped from 103 to 100. Big difference. God is good!
