  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm still Buddhist, but.. In my journey towards, away from, around Christianity I've been listening to UCB2 radio... A Christian radio station from the UK.
Some of the talk on there I find quite nice and encouraging (although the music is a bit bland at times)..

My questions...

A) Do you listen to Christian radio sand find it helpful?

B) Can you recommend any stations/online radio, especially that have a bit more chat and explanation, discussion, encouragement, support etc. I would prefer UK stations if possible...

Thank you..

Nope. If I want to listen to something that's not music-related while in my car I usually put on an audio book. I've picked up a number of audio books on Audible that I listen to on longer drives. For the sake of keeping this relevant to this thread, most of what I listen to are books on theology and the like.

As for music, I don't listen to a lot of "Christian music"; I still do but I tend to limit it to more traditional music or a very small handful of musicians/bands that identify as Christian. The overwhelming majority of popular "Christian music" is vapid and uninteresting. Though I will admit that I will listen to a number of songs or musicians that my parents listened to when I was growing up, generally for the nostalgia factor.

I'm in the US, I don't listen to podcasts much, but I feel confident in recommending Just And Sinner, Pastor Jordan Cooper's podcast which addresses all sorts of things from a confessionally Lutheran perspective. While I haven't listened to his podcast much, I have watched a number of his videos on YouTube, hence why I feel confident in recommending him. This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but it's likely all I really can offer on this front.
