  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Book of Genesis tells us that everything was created by God—nothing "evolved." Every creature was given the ability to reproduce after its own kind as is stated ten times in Genesis. Dogs do not produce cats. Neither do cats and dogs have a common ancestry. Dogs began as dogs and are still dogs. They vary in species from Chihuahuas to Saint Bernards, but you will not find a "dat" or a "cog" (part cat/dog) throughout God’s creation. Frogs don’t reproduce oysters, cows don’t have lambs, and pregnant pigs don’t give birth to rabbits. God made monkeys as monkeys, and man as man.
Each creature brings forth after its own kind. That’s no theory; that’s a fact. Why then should we believe that man comes from another species? If evolution is true, then it is proof that the Bible is false. However, the whole of creation stands in contradiction to the theory of evolution.
Dr. Kent Hovind of Florida has a standing offer of $250,000 to "anyone who can give any empirical evidence (scientific proof) for evolution." Evolution— true science fiction. His website is www.drdino.com.

I thought you guys might want to read it.

I've read the offer in the past, but didn't see it when clicking on your link or searching his site.
Isn't Kent Hovind still in jail? If so, how would he be able to pay if the IRS has taken his money?

If you could PROVE to a Biblical Creationist that macro-evolution was true, then to them (I include myself here) the Biblical account would be just a story and have no factual basis. If the Bible wasn't 100% true and Jesus endorsed the creation account, then that would make Him a liar. I would have to say in that case, our faith would be in vain.

Now, it's easy to make an offer like Hovind's for the following reasons:

1. The way it was written, it would be very difficult to prove to his standards (which are what it would take for him to believe it).
2. If you convinced Kent that macro-evolution was true, then he would consider his faith in vain, have no reason or basis to maintain Biblical morality and therefore merely say "I'm not paying you because I lied." After all, isn't lying just another evolved trait that we can't help doing? What makes it wrong, and why should he keep a promise. By who's rules, and what makes that right?

I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this.

I don't even know the guy. I found a short passage that talked about Creationism. I thought I'd post it in the Creation Sub-Forum just so you guys could read it. I don't even know who Kent Hovind is. I didn't know about his past.

Not to worry. And I do agree with the message. I'm just trying to illustrate that if we have total faith that the Bible is true, then we can bet our lives on it. The amount of money is insignificant, and it could be a billion dollars. But to make it seem realistic, it's a tangible figure. Again, if we're wrong, then all morality would be down the drain and they'd never collect anyway.

I've had "evolutionist" tell me that evolution is a "fact", it's only how it happened that includes theories. I really have trouble with that logic, because it seems like for something to be fact it would have to have been proven through the "scientific method" which if done with a positive result would no longer be considered a theory.
