  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey that sounds cool! What does it look like? How many pairs of jeans did you use? I bet that would look great in my little boy's room!

For a backing I guess what comes to my mind is something red, like a checkered print or bandana print. If it's for a girl maybe a cute calico floral print. Or just take a walk through a sewing/fabric store and get imaginative. I guess it all depends where you plan to use it.

I would suggest an all cotton flannel sheet. It's thin and easy to quilt through, but weighty enough to complement the denim fabric.

I recently used a flannel sheet to back a quilt I made for my son. He likes it because it's extra warm and cozy.

When you're done how about posting a picture of your completed quilt? I for one would sure love to see it!

After posting, I was pondering......

The jean quilts that I have made, are all over 20 years old and still in constant use.

On one quilt, I used the pocket areas and split them at the zippers. Then, I buttoned them to each other, attached them around the edges making a ruffle.

I learned not to use the pieces that are too faded, they wear out and leave areas that need to be patched (on one of the quilts, the patches looked good), and I forgot to baste the edges on another quilt and had to re-sew the seams about 5 years later.
