Most of my icons are hand-painted. A few are prints….very few.Nice. Prints are not as cool as the real deal. Old icons are cool, cos I like classics of anything in general (old soul here). I have not seen Nutroll in a while, and he did not talk to me, when I asked him about icons back in 2023 or early 2024.
Wow, your icons are beautiful. Do you have St. Joseph? He is one of my favorite saints.
Aww, that is very nice of your husband. Which artist/company made your icon, and what type of wood is it? Your icon looks very high quality. My husband commissioned this icon for me on my chrismation.
Anna DuMoulin made it in the manner of her father’s style, Fr. Andrew Tregubov, along with her own unique style of iconography. She was a wonderful iconographer. Unfortunately, due to circumstances in her life, she no longer makes them (at least not for the public). Aww, it is sad why Anna has stopped making icons. But hey, sometimes God changes the path or calling for people. Her art is beautiful, and I am glad that the Wayback Machine archived her work. Apparently, linden or pine wood are the most common types of wood.Anna DuMoulin made it in the manner of her father’s style, Fr. Andrew Tregubov, along with her own unique style of iconography. This is an article about her: Anna DuMoulin: Artist and Iconographer | St Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary
Regarding the wood - I don’t know the type, but it definitely is high quality.
I wanted to commission her to write an icon of my husband’s saint, but I was too late unfortunately. Someday, I likely will commission one with her father, Fr Andrew Tregubov.
Is the icon on the very far right the Nativity of the Theotokos?
It does look RC. On Orthodox crucifixes Christ does not hang limply as though defeated by death since He is actually victorious over death, hence He is depicted as standing on the cross even in death.BTW is your holy water font with the crucifix RC or are my eyes deceiving me?
