We don't have an icon corner. When we bought the house we were able to repurpose the dining room as our home chapel or prayer room . All the walls are covered in icons.
In our first home we had a few icons sitting on the top of an upright piano. Each time we have moved, we have expanded a little, getting furniture specifically for use in our prayer corner. Once we were able to buy a house, we were specifically looking for one where we could set aside a whole room. The Realtor didn't even want to show us this house because the previous owners had let it get into a pretty awful condition, but it turned out to be perfect for us.

It was an icon that monk seraphim gave out after a talk at a parish in town. He told us her story. Her name is Saint Chaney. I was told she was sexually assulted, but she kept the child and then became a nun herself from what I rememeber.

Mostly from visiting monasteries and convents. Some from Orthodox bookstores.

Most of our icons are prints, either framed or bonded to a board. Hand painted icons generally don't have a problem with paint peeling, although we do have a couple of very old icons where paint has fallen off in places. Fr Matthew (nutroll) is an iconographer, so he can give you a better idea about how icons are finished, although I don't think he frequents the forums as much these days.

Nice. Prints are not as cool as the real deal. Old icons are cool, cos I like classics of anything in general (old soul here). I have not seen Nutroll in a while, and he did not talk to me, when I asked him about icons back in 2023 or early 2024.
