Questions about Ethiopian Orthodox

I've heard that the Ethiopian Orthodox are not permitted to eat pork. Also, I've read that in that Church, those who are married and who engage in sexual relations do not receive communion (at all, not just as a matter of pre-communion abstinence). These practices are strange to me - are they true? What is the reason behind them?
