  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes i am a little curious on how to receive said gift. But if that is true it means many great men from history are in hell how is that possible? examples Gandhi, Thomas Jefferson, Einstein etc.

If those "great" men of history died in unbelieve then yes, they were not saved. The reason is that men that do not believe or accept God's love are merely doing deeds for their own glorification instead of for God's glorification. BTW- Let me qualify my statements with the fact that no one except God knows their hearts, therefore, we do not know if the people you cited were actually, not potentially, saved.

The way to receive God's free gift of salvation is to receive Him into your heart. God's grace takes care of the rest. :)

Everyone falls short of being a truly good person. We cannot cancel out our own sins with good deeds or great contributions to society. God's holiness and purity do not let him employ a sliding scale to let people into Heaven. So what has to happen is for your sins to be canceled out by what Jesus Christ did with his death and resurrection.

Yes. God's grace does the rest. All of your sins are canceled by the judicial grace of God. But the key is that you actually have to believe with all of you heart, all of your soul, and all of your mind.

Imagine a scenario in which there is a man we will call him Sam. Sam is a good boy and grows up to be a firefighter who saves many lives and often anonymously donates to different charity funds. He also denies god in every form way or fashion he despises god for some reason. He has done good things with his life and saved many people but he will burn eternally in agony. I know that you said it is impossible to be a perfect being but shouldn't you try!!!!

The thing is that the bible tell us that there is no one without sin, no one. An infinite, just God demands punishment for sins. All sins are against God. All of them. Any person that dies not believing will not be saved.

I realize that it is hard to understand simply because you are using a finite, man made bar by which to judge goodness, but God is infinite goodness and His is "the" moral bar.

And if you're God, why should you let him into your house. He's had his chances to believe in you, a fair amount of them. You've sent your people, envoy after envoy, as it were, but your invite was rejected time after time for his whole life. Why do you want his company? What morally obligates you to endure his company? Nothing, so you do not let him into your house. His stubbornness has chosen "outside, in the darkness, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth."

So if you were god just because someone doesn't like you means they deserve eternal pain!!? Do all denominations of Christianity believe this?!?
They don't deserve his presence, and his presence is the "sun" of all pleasure. Without it, you get pain and suffering.

Is everything in the bible true? I know i used to believe that but I'm not sure now. do you have any none christian friends Hentenza because i do and I would rather burn myself then let them burn

I believe that every teaching in the bible is true. I also believe that every letter, word, and sentence are true but only in the original writings.

I do have several friends and family members that are not believers. All I can do is pray for them that they will accept the Lord. By the same thought, I have had close family members that have died believers, like my Dad, and is such a joy to know that I will see him and then soon. It makes death much more bearable.

The teaching is common to mainstream Christianity. There are groups that depart from the teachings of the bible that might believe otherwise.

God has revealed Himself both in nature, general revelation, and in the scripture, special revelation. Everyone can freely choose to accept Him and also to reject them. God will not force His love on anyone since forced love is no love at all. The opportunity to choose God through faith is now in this life. Faith is necessary for salvation. Once a person die and have rejected God then faith is meaningless.

CS Lewis, the famous writer atheist turned Christian, wrote that there are two kinds of people, those who say to God "Thy will be done", and those who God will say "Thy will be done". The choice is ours.
