• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey y'all I have a question. Last night when I was in my room, I was just wasting time when out of the blue slipped out out of my mouth "It was not of the HS." Was that blasphemy? Plus forgive me for asking so many questions.
Have you seen a psychiatrist and do you know what exposure/response therapy is? It is imperative that you are tested for OCD.

You will never know peace with all your questions unless this is addressed. Those of us who have been there, know. We care about you and want you to get help.

That's right. Even if you get enough reassurance in one area that it's no longer problematic for you, the OCD will usually "morph" into another area of questioning. Because it's the OCD that's the poblem, NOT a spiritual problem, ya know?

you are not qualified to say that the root cause is in fact OCD it is youre assumption and you are not adressing his question. he did not ask you to play Psychiatrist he asked you to answer a specific question ..
When one has come to an OCD forum, one will get a perspective that is OCD related. He must feel he has OCD or he would not have come here.

I know you don't like me, but please try and see what we are saying here. You have decided that I'm playing psychiatrist. That does not make it so. I believe that anyone who thinks they may have religious OCD should seek a psychiatrist. Do you feel that someone who has benefited from exposure/response therapy should not come here and tell about it? It seems you would just like me to go away, and keep my mouth shut. Of course, you are free to think anything of me that you like, but know that I only want people to see that there is hope in this disorder, and someone who comes to this forum, is seeking just that.

I never like anyone who hits me first even if it is verbally speaking..I tend to hit back. But I don't want you to just go away .. Why would I , you are
a very valuable contributor . I think it is very important that you should share youre knowledge experience and you're opinions .You have every right to . Even if i could i would not stop you .. I really believe that you honestly care and that you have been a great help to people on this forum

You were a help to me in youre last two posts .. .
I think we may be reading each other the wrong way ...
I think we both believe in the same thing we just have different approaches
and different needs .. I am going to make an effort to try to understand where you are comming from and try to really listen to what you are saying .Perhaps you could do the same for me ?
