Can A good christian person, watch shows on Tv and Movie slike SOuth PArk and Kill bill.. which are filled iwth violence, crude humor and such...

Good question, slightlessgod. One which I often ask.

I'll let you know right now that I really liked Kill Bill, and though I don't really care for South Park, it does have its funny moments.

Anyway, can a good Christian enjoy entertainment with blatant unchristian content?
Depending on the case, yes, I believe they can.

I'll think more on the subject to write about it later.

One could watch such things, but don't believe for one minute that it won't affect you in some way. It could affect you unconsciously. Everything you have ever seen, heard, felt, or experienced in some way has affected who you are today, and affects how you make decisions.

Southpark has two levels. Firstly, it is crude, vulgar, blasphemous, and many other words, but above that, it is essentially satire.

which is exactly why everyone should watch every single episodes of south park (cept the lame ones, like that one about hip hop dancing or the one about those duck monsters)

Not necessarily.

I'm a Christian and I enjoy South Park (a good bit of it, anyway). I don't see how the show, itself, is against "Christian morals" when the show is usually poking fun and showing the utter stupidity of many of the things Christianity teaches against.

While Parker and Stone may come at many issues from different directions than Christians, we often end up in the same place.

That's not to say that there isn't a lot about the show that's offensive, there is. But the show is, at it's core, satire and all good satire, by nature, is offensive.

I have to agree with 12volt. I think if you look at SouthPark superficially, all you will see is it's crude language, etc. But if you dissect it and look deeper, like 12volt said, you will see the joy that is satire pointing out the stupid things we do or think in our lives. Like with Dogma...religious people got in SUCH an uproar over it, but IMO, I thought it was a thoughtprovoking movie that raised some good points about where religion has been taken. One such line from the movie really stuck with me, where Serendipity (salma hayeck) commented that we MOURN our religion instead of CELEBRATING it - which I found to be true. But that's just me. ;-)

First of all, type a little slower and proof-read before you post...

Next, you raise an important point. "Christian" is something someone becomes not something someone does. Programs like the ones you're speaking of certainly pollute and corrupt the heart and mind. For the Christian, this is not suitable "entertainment". In fact, for the Christian, these types of things become abhorrent. Vulgarity, violence, and licentiousness offend us because they offend God. As we grow closer to God (in sanctification and Holiness), we begin to see things as God sees them.

I am a good (unorthodox/gnostic/heretic) Christian, and I enjoy South Park (I agree with 12volt on the whole satirizing the absurdities of modern society and such.). Kill Bill also happens to be one of my favorite films.
