I was wondering if one must have a funeral, wedding, and baptism in their Diocese or may go to another for any of these rites. Would one have to seek a dispensation from their Bishop in order to go to another Diocese for any of these?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't believe that a dispensation is needed by the parties wishing to be married, baptised, etc. However, (I believe technically) a dispensation would be needed for a priest presiding if he was from another diocese.

For a person to be married outside their diocease, they must get permission from their own Priest, plus have the appropriate paperwork and classes certified in order to be married in another diocease, plus get the permission from the Priest and Bishop from the diocease they want to be married in. (My cousin wanted to get married here, and I had to research all of this for her.)
Funerals, may be arranged in whichever diocease the family wishes, or if the decedant has indicated beforehand, arrangements can be made for the burial to take place in another state and diocease.
Baptismis, need a special dispensation outside the parents diocease if they wish to have the baptismal in another diocease. Also, special reason and circomstances must be put forth in order for permission to be given.

I belonged to the Diocese of Pittsburgh and my wife was from Wilkes-Barre, 300 miles away, but we both went to school in Pittsburgh and belonged to the Diocese. We had no problem and did not need a dispensation for us to be married in my wife's home town

If you both lived in that area, there is no need for a dispensation. If you had been going to the Parish you were married in then there is no need for special dispensation from either party.
