Great little article. He is pointing to the fact that it is so easy to start gossip, and back stabbing in one little 'innocent' question. Some times prayer requests can start out as gossip adn talking about stuff that we should not talk about.

It can hinder and hurt out perception of other people, sometimes before we actually meet that person.

I like the image of the rowing decks on the galley. That throws light onto Phillipians 2. I see how it connects with questions angled to dredge up sacandal and make one's self feel bigger by dragging others through the dirt.
