  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, ya know, I can't speak for the Gods or thier affiliates, but I'd guess its because beetles are great fun to make and are terrific terrific giftsfor immortals. Kind of like our terrestrial hand-made ashtrays.

A peak into TrueQ's thought processess:

Other explanations considered include -

1. One day some greasy, nerdy deity combed his hair and all the dandruff fell to earth and became beetle species.

2. Bug aliens from the twelfth planet visited Earth long ago and interbred with beetle populations.

3. Blank-faced, indiscriminate, Natural Forces have an unexplained tendency to weigh dice in favor of small, shelled things.

4. All beetle varieties are actually tiny camera robots used by the Illuminati to keep tabs on all portions of the globe simultaneously.

Hmm, interesting.

Makes clear one thing - there are more unevolved souls in the world than the evolved ones.

I do not think of beetles as a speciality - every creation of God is.

thanks

As a scientific reason, beetles have high survival abilities, under very harsh climates, and can even survive radiation. That might explain their number.

i am not interested in the scientific reason ( which all of us are anyway aware of ) . i just want a religious point of view , not saying that the 2 cant mix but why would God create so many types according to a theist is what i wanted to know

Well, if you know anything about the TOE, then that should explain my stance pretty much.

u dint specify ur religion

actually in hinduism , moksha is possible only in the human form . i personally dont believe we get reincarnated into lower life forms , but thats why their souls are called "unevolved"

Quran 24:45

And God has created every animal from water: of them there are some that creep on their bellies; some that walk on two legs; and some that walk on four. God creates what He wills for verily God has power over all things.

you mean its Gods will and reason remains unknown?

i said in my op could u try to explain

Well, so you did, and I guess what I'm getting at is that what normally constitutes an "explanation" is not likely to be had, for the reason noted.

However, you may find it interesting to consider the concept of the "plentitude of creation", which St. Thomas Aquinas set out in his Summa Theologica (and which I will not dare try to encapsulate in a brief email post). But the plentitude means no gaps in creation, and so one could conclude that the beetles are there so that there won't be gaps. Now if I could say why a lack of beetles would cause a gap, I might be in a position to give you an explanation .

Blessings,

Gerry

Kind of OT, but does anyone know the name of this beetle-like insect that lives on the beach? They can burrow in the sand and live in the ocean, and they are harmless to people. They're whitish or pinkish in color. They can be found in the very shallow part of the ocean - where the waves break. I've seen a group of them, with one the size of a quarter or so in a herd of others that were about minnow-sized. Their dead sometimes wash ashore and you can see their cool-looking exoskeleton, the part that last awhile after the rest of the bug has decayed. I've seen them at N.C. beaches, but I can't for the life I me remember what they're called.
