On another board they are discussing Sukkot.
And Palm Sunday came up....
the below is a question asked by a Jewish woman on the board...
"When Jesus went to Jerusalem, weren't the people waving palm branches? I always thought that this must have happened during Sukkot because that is the other big ritual of the holiday. Can you elaborate on this. Isn't Palm Sunday related to Sukkot even though they come at different times of the year?"
anyone willing to elaborate so I have an idea of how to answer her?
I want to be able to explain the significances of the Palm branches and all... though we've been looking into the Messianic aspect of Christianity for the past 6 months or so (we've made friends with the Rabbi at a Messianic congregation in a neighboring city and have attended Sabboth a few times... though not often because it's a bit of a drive).
Also... I think I remember hearing that Sukkot/Tabernacles may have been the actual time of the birth of Jesus. Can anyone elaborate on that as well?
Thanks
