Found a great video by this pastor/evangelist - Southern Baptist minister according to this vid.

What do Baptists think of this person? I just found his video so don't know much about him but it looks like he is certainly on fire for God.

Hello BobRyan,

He most certainly has a heart for God. He was the one on the day that my heart came into an understanding of the voidance and need of the learning of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Though afterwards grew out of His teaching, he most certainly a brother in the Lord Jesus Christ, who reached me in to searching and looking at the Gospel and to learn who the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank God placed him in my life when He did, cause through Him - God was able to reach me (personally).

Might not be everyone cup of tea though.

Paul washer is my absolute favorite preacher to listen to, but he is calvinist, as am i, and calvinism isnt everyones cup of tea. You’ll find a lot of people dont care for him or his style, but me personally, i like a good spiritual beating and he definitely can do that.

ok well I am no Calvinist - but if you listen to the video I put in the OP you don't hear much Calvinism at all - he could be preaching in my own local church with that sort of message.

I like his message about the narrow road - the gate narrow and the path narrow

I agree with @Lifelong_sinner, Paul Washer is one of my favorite pastor/evangelists, but not because he's a Calvinist (quite frankly, like Bob, I didn't know that about him). I appreciate his ministry because he does not mince words as he speaks the truth of the Gospel in love.

Thanks for posting the video for us Bob :)

God bless you!

p.s. - here's a quote from another pastor/evangelist who held 5-Point Calvinism as central to the Gospel, though I doubt that any true believer would have a problem with this quote (or, quite frankly, 'most' of the other things that he is known for saying/teaching).

I like Spurgeon...We need more strong preachers like him.

I've listened to him before, and he preaches the word. Every denomination and non-denomination groups have some preachers that don't compromise, the flip side it there are many preaching that shouldn't be.

D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge was another great Calvinist preacher who preached in a manner that was not explicitly or overbearingly Calvinist. The only hint to his Calvinism was his occasional use of the words “regenerate” and “unregenerate” but these terms are themselves not exclusively Calvinist. Although extremely conservative, he was also ecumenically minded

His church also had a fantastic music program.

His successor was horrible; most of his ministries were shut down, and his bereaved daughter and the musicians were disfellowshipped. :( Now he since resigned following an affair; I am trying to find out if conditions on the ground at Coral Ridge have improved.

I attended a service at Coral Ridge at 2006 but regret not introducing myself to Rev. Kennedy. I was also there shortly after his heart attack.

Indeed, it was a complete nightmare that befell Coral Ridge and especially the musicians and Kennedy’s daughter after he reposed in the Lord. The serious decay in both the quantity and quality of the ministries being conducted out of Coral Ridge gave me a certain cynicism. Now the Presbyterian Church in America is one of the better denominations out there, comprised largely of former United Presbyterian churches like Coral Ridge which departed when the UPC began the transition into the extreme liberalism that now pervades the mainline Protestant churches, and the Presbytery of which Coral Ridge is a part did rule against Rev. Tchividian (Rev. Kennedy’s successor) in the dispute over the excommunication disfellowshipping of his daughter, so the PCA at least intervened properly from a denominational standpoint, but I don’t know how that worked out in terms of conditions on the ground. I have heard the new minister reinstated traditional worship and did other good things, but I haven’t been able to verify any of it.

I am hoping in the near future to visit South Florida and when I do, perhaps ir will be possible to make an assesment.
