Question about military

Hi, I don't think there is a simple answer to this one. If you know who would use the final product perhaps you could make some kind of judgement.

This is often a question responsible governments ask when considering selling aircraft to other governments with questionable policies on dealing with troublesome populations.

I would say go ahead and design it. Who knows, maybe it would end up being the aircraft to spot Osama's hideout. :D What kind of aircraft? Is it a fighter plane? Surveillance? Radar jammer? There are a lot of uses it could be put to other than killing.

Im an individual right here, I guess thats why I got ELSed from the guard inbetween basic and OCS as per GI rights (I still need to check with S1 about signing my ELS, maybe I will do it next year. Designing and engineering things is not wrong. It is the attitude and motivations of thoes using the technology that may be wrong

I have a question for all of you christians. Do you think it would be wrong for me to design a military aircraft. It could be seen as serving my country, but if it brings death to someone else then wouldnt it be a sin. I dont want to debate I would just like an answer.

Thanks,
Confused

I am not a christian but IMHO based on the years I use to be one, heck no, it aint sin to designed something that may be used in the military. It could have other possible functions perhaps that some might see down the road and have nothing to do with a combat situation.

No I don't think it would be an evil thing. Even god required isreal to fight and a need for soilders, and it would not be right to sit and let evil murder uncontested. Cause your design could potienaly save more lives. My bro, is worked on the JSF, and Camanchi helo, as an areo-space engineer. He works on all kinds of stuff, but I think it is fine, cause he is helping by keeping our pilots in the next gen. aircraft which could save live on a huge scale, depending on the situtation.

No. Scripture does not stop us from defending ourselves. It stops us from murdering. The US goes to great lengths and spend the majority of our weapon budget to making more precise weapons to minimize the death of innocents. It becomes evenmore difficult because our enemies know our desire to not kill innocents, and purposefully puts themselves in heavily populated areas to make it harder for us to get them.

So, no. Serving your country, whether directly or through design, would not be against Scriptural guidance.

God bless you,
