I found this discussion about christianity on this link: http://www.selectsmart.com/DISCUSS/read.php?f=33&i=45330&t=45330
i'm not sure what to say about it other than it's making me question christianity again just when I was starting to get comfortable. If anybody could look at the link and answer some the questions the atheists post it would help. Thanks.

Hello P.O.D. Cincy Warrior,

There are better than fifty question overall in that posting. Could you/would you narrow down the area where your faith is faltering?

Perhaps if you posted some of the specific questions to the open forum, then you could benefit from the expertise of many members replies?

You don't need to doubt God. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, and eternal. That means He isn't changing.

If anyone or anything changes, it is man ideas and man's plans. God's plans aren't changing, He wrote the entire book up to and including the final chapter.

I'm mainly wondering why God says we should believe in all the miracles in the Bible without any logical way they could've happened, if that makes since(I'm not sure how to put it). The discussion about this is around the middle of the thread. Once again if anybody can help it would be nice.

Hi, P.O.D. CW.

Quick answer, at least from my personal perspective: If God can create the entire universe from nothing, then I have no right to try to limit his ability to perform healings and walk on water, etc. In short, if God is capable of doing the big stuff, then the little things cant be a problem. If the God of the Bible exists at all, then He is capable of much more than the stray miracle. The Bible does say that God's ways are not our ways. His methods are beyond our limited abilities to fully comprehend.

Another clarification question for you: are you questioning God's ability to do the miracles, or the Bible's reliability in testifying to them?

If there is anything I can do to help sort it out, I'd be happy to.

Robert G. Ingersoll hated Christianity and rightfully complained against it up until his death. He would point out the sins and flaws of Christianity which are numerous, indeed. Yet, it is reported that he didn't meet death with any grace and was very frightened of it.
To live a life of faith, you cannot be tossed about by the multitude of proud arguments man can make against their creator. They still cannot do much more than put names on all the things He has created - which was one of the jobs of Adam in the garden of Eden. Read the Bible and hang out were there is faith in God, grow and build yourself up in faith while you have the time to do so.
Ingersoll was a brilliant man, yet the Bible has been given to those that would preach about Jesus and the forgiveness of sin which is considered as foolishness by the world. It is wisdom, though, to those that are being saved from the destruction to come.

1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those being lost, but to us being saved, it is the power of God.

1Co 1:21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom did not know God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe.

Does logic tell us how to make a blade of grass? We create nothing, but presume ourselves as logical enough to judge the creators works and Word when we should be trusting Him. I suppose each person will have to choose and pray. I didn't have much faith when I first started out, but I went to the Lord and told Him so and asked for more...
